Title IX-Sexual Harassment
In fall 2020, the Office of Civil Rights enacted new guidelines related to Title IX which governs issues of sexual harassment. Specifically, Title IX prohibits sex‐based discrimination, including sexual harassment (which includes dating violence, sexual assault, domestic violence, and stalking) in educational programs and activities receiving federal financial assistance. These new guidelines are found in Board of Education Policy 2:265.
~Título IX-Acoso sexual: En otoño de 2020, la Oficina de Derechos Civiles promulgó nuevas pautas relacionadas con el Título IX, que rige los problemas de acoso sexual. Específicamente, el Título IX prohíbe la discriminación basada en el sexo, incluido el acoso sexual (que incluye violencia en el noviazgo, agresión sexual, violencia doméstica y acecho) en programas y actividades educativos que reciben asistencia financiera federal. Estas nuevas pautas se encuentran en la Política de la Junta de Educación 2: 265.
Bullying and Aggressive Behaviors
Bullying, intimidation, and harassment diminish a student’s ability to learn and a school’s ability to educate. Preventing students from engaging in these disruptive behaviors and providing all students equal access to safe, non-hostile learning environment are important District goals. Board Policy governing bullying is found here Board of Education Policy 7:180.
~Intimidación y comportamientos agresivos: El acoso, la intimidación y el acoso disminuyen la capacidad de un estudiante para aprender y la capacidad de la escuela para educar. Evitar que los estudiantes se involucren en estos comportamientos perturbadores y brindarles a todos los estudiantes el mismo acceso a un ambiente de aprendizaje seguro y no hostil son metas importantes del Distrito.
