RCS #137 Families

Below, please find useful information for families who are new to the District or have students who are continuing their education at one of RCS schools. Please note, students who are promoted from one RCS school to another (i.e., from Pleasant Acres to J.W. Eater) are considered returning students.

Conscious Discipline

Conscious Discipline is a proven, comprehensive approach that empowers teachers with skills that create a safe, connected, problem-solving environment. It is brain-based, trauma-informed, social-emotional learning. Conscious Discipline is a tier-one intervention. In other words, core curriculum is provided to all students. Conscious Discipline is not typically used to provide disciplinary action but rather used to create a community in classrooms so that if/when a student re-enter class after disciplinary action (whether time out of class or a suspension), they are welcomed back. Conscious Discipline provides tools to teachers to use classroom management and provides a transformational, whole-school solution for social-emotional learning, discipline, and self-regulation. Skyward Student Information System

Skyward is the student information database system RCS #137 utilizes in order for parent/guardian(s) to access their student’s information.  Skyward Family Access provides important information to families about their student’s schedule, grades, attendance, and food service meals. More importantly, it provides the ability to contact your student’s teachers, as well as, manage student information.  After the online registration is approved by the school, the parent/guardian will receive their Skyward Family Access User ID and password information.  Click here for instructions to accessing Skyward mobile app.
